Squirrel Control in Gananoque

After a long day of work, you want to come home to a place where you can rest and relax. Unfortunately, sometimes squirrels can enter your home and dwell in your attic. They can make unpleasant noises and cause discomfort for you and your family.

One of our customers in Gananoque was hearing noises in the attic, and believed that it was a squirrel. A Greenshield Wildlife Technician did an inspection of the home. They found that a squirrel had chewed through the screening of the roof vents. They replaced the damaged roof vents, placed roof vent covers, and installed a one-way door. In the end, the squirrels were able to exit the attic and unable to return. The customer was relieved and ecstatic that the problem was solved.

How Squirrels Enter Attics

Squirrels are active year round and are one of our most commonly dealt with animals, especially in Kingston. They continually seek food and shelter, and in doing so they are invade homes and business buildings. Common areas that they will attempt to make a den include attics, chimneys, sheds, crawlspaces, and within insulated walls. They are known for being able to chew through almost anything, including wood, plastic, and some metals.

A squirrel can chew through and damage several areas on your roof in order to gain access to your attic. Here are a few common entry points where squirrels can access your attic:

·        Roof singles

·        Roof soffit and fascia

·        Roof or gable vents

·        Bathroom vent pipes
