Cockroaches prefer to live in warm, humid places close to food and moisture sources. They are frequently found in residential and commercial kitchen environments, and bathrooms.  they prefer confined spaces and hide within small cracks and crevices.

Cockroach Life Cycle

Growing from egg to reproductive adult Cockroach in roughly 50 – 60 days. Once fertilized, a female German cockroach develops an ootheca in her abdomen. The abdomen swells as her eggs develop, until the translucent tip of the ootheca begins to protrude from the end of her abdomen, and by that time the eggs inside are fully sized, about 1/4-inch-long with 16 segments. about 24-48 hours later the young emerge. The newly hatched 3-mm-long black nymphs then progress through six or seven instars before becoming sexually mature adults.

Cockroach Prevention

Remove indoor trash and emptied regularly. Make sure food is rinsed from dishes and not left on counters and frequently run the garbage disposal and sanitize the sink. Food containers should be sealed. All kitchen appliances (microwaves, toasters, ovens, refrigerators and stoves) should be maintained in a clean condition so that it is food free and grease free. All pet food needs to be picked up. No food left out in the open. Sweeping or vacuuming of any food particles or crumbs. Get rid of empty soft drink bottles, paper bags and cardboard boxes.
