Spring in Kingston: How to Prepare for New Wildlife!
Marketing coordinator on the field with a baby raccoon. The baby raccoon was safely and humanely reunited with the mama raccoon!
Marketing Coordinator on the Field
As a marketing coordinator, I got the chance to follow one of our technician, Chris, on the field. We visited a home where the owner was having problems with raccoons in their attic. The mama raccoon had created a nest in the attic for herself and her babies. The babies were safely and humanely removed from the attic and placed in a heated baby box. The mama raccoon safely removed and relocated the babies to a new nesting spot when she returned to the home.
Spring Means Wildlife Mating Season
During the spring time, many wildlife are mating and having babies. Raccoons, squirrels, skunks, and rodents are a few animals that will be mating. Usually they will stay in the wild, but sometimes they end up in seeking shelter in peoples homes. They will look for warm, safe places to create nests to have their babies.
It is important to check your property for any damages or open areas that might allow wildlife to enter. Many animals are smart, and they will burrow, chew, or claw their way through various types of materials. Raccoons have strong claws that can rip through metal. Squirrels can chew through wood. Skunks will burrow underneath structures. Rodents such as mice and rats can fight through the tiniest holes. If they can find a weak spot or opening, they will get in!
When to Call the Professionals
If you are having problems with wildlife on your property, it is best to let the professional deal with it. Wildlife can be very dangerous. If they come face to face with a human, they can become defensive and cause harm. One of our wildlife technicians will visit our property and complete a proper assessment and removal of any wildlife.
We offer a variety of warrantees to ensure that your property is completely wildlife free. Call Greenshield Pest Control at 613-389-3999 for any questions, we would be happy to help!
